World's Tallest Cat Guinness Book of World Records 2011

Two feline records have been broken in the latest edition of the "Guinness Book of World Records," released last week. The tallest and longest domestic cat records are held by Scarlett's Magic, an F1 Savannah.

Scarlett's Magic measures 18.07 in. (45.90 cm.) tall and 42.72 inches (108.51 cm) long. Kimberly and Lee Draper own the cat, who held the previous record but broke it as she continued to grow.

The 2011 Guinness Book of World Records went on sale Sept. 15. Additional cat records this year include "Oldest Cat" Creme Puff, who lived with Jerry Perry in Austin, Texas, for 38 years and 3 days. This edition also offers tales from the broader animal kingdom like Fluffy, the "Longest Snake Ever" at 24 feet, and Colo, the "Oldest Gorilla in Captivity" at 53 years old.

Dogs also break some records. To launch the new edition, Guinness World Records arranged the first meeting between "Giant George" (the new "World's Tallest Dog") and the "World's Smallest Dog" Boo Boo. George stands at 43 in. tall, nearly 7 ft. long and tips the scales at 245 pounds, while Boo Boo could fit into the palm of a hand at merely 4 in. tall. The canine stars of the book got acquainted in New York City's Central Park.
